The multi-family housing estate for young families is located on the edge of the town Šmarje nad Koprom. The area has been the subject of a previous OPPN, which prescribes dimensions and micro-location for four multi-apartment buildings with a shared garage. The proposal for the new neighbourhood takes into account the favourable local climatic conditions for outdoor living and the specificities of the housing programme for young families. The proposal is contextually related to the baladur, a characteristic element of the Istrian house in the form of an external corridor or terrace outside the building's footprint. The architectural design provides for two side oriented apartments with access to the apartments via external corridors, which become an additional semi-public common space for the residents.

Before / Location
